week 7

We are back to school this week! We decided this would be the last week for Grace to go to Brain Balance; she has been attending three times a week for some intentional work to help with brain development. We saw some good progress at the beginning of her time, but have not seen any changes lately. Not to mention, the amount of energy this program took from her meant her ability to focus and work on other work at home was severely limited. Unfortunately, she lost ground in reading, which is super discouraging. She loved her days at BB, but we need our time back!

Judah got back to some drawing this hexmester and is choosing to work on portraits using the lessons on this site. He was really proud of his first eye!

Courben began the course, “Thinking Like an Engineer,” this week and seems to like the hybrid of online and hands-on learning. He had two different paper challenges and learned lots about trial and error. Nate also wanted in on the fun and came up with solutions to some of the paper problems.

It will be nice to get back into a normal rhythm now that Brain Balance is wrapped up.

  1. Great handprints, Gracelyn!  Being on ladders scares me these days.  It looks as though someone painted your shorts, too.   Judah, I’m really impressed with your drawing of an eye .  Would it be difficult to draw the other eye and have it look like it belongsto the same person? Courben, it’s good to see you taking on this challenge;  I hope it continues to be interesting to you.          Lovingly, GrGr
