We had a great time at one of Columbus’ many Eclipse Celebrations across the city. We chose the metro park nearest us so we could ride over on bikes.
Along with handing out free glasses, the science museum had eclipse activities set up on picnic tables. The kiddos got to draw solar system maps, make UV reacting beaded bracelets, and try their hands at an eclipse demonstration using different sized balls and a flashlight.
And of course, we got lots of good looks at the orange crescent sun with our glasses. We observed for over an hour, and now I’m wishing we would have documented the changes! It was a little ominous riding home on our bikes; it was hard to remember it was caused by the eclipse and not storm clouds!
