Yesterday, we headed to Stratford Ecological Center for a co-op field trip. We learned all about honeybees:
- Drones (male bees) are made when a the bee larvae isn’t fertilized
- Honey is made when about six bees pass nectar vomit between each other
- Static electricity is the way pollen and bees collide
- The scientific word for stinger is ovipositor, which means egg-depositor
We also saw piglets being born, witnessed a cat catching his chipmunk prey, and ate lunch and took jumping pictures by the pond.
