manger time

It’s our traditional manger building day!  We started the day off with a Lowe’s run to get the wood and nails. The boys did all the measuring, sawing, and hammering this year. They are becoming quite competent!Courben even helped Gracie learn to hammer; she practiced on the spare wood. I’m sure after a couple more builds, we’ll have the instructions memorized. The manger was complete before lunchtime, and Gracie put baby Jesus in his bed.

We all agree this has become a day to look forward to. And even though Nate could probably build the whole thing in 30 minutes flat, it’s a great project to work on together and gets us all thinking about the Reason for Christmas.
