Don’t be fooled by Courben’s face; he had fun this morning! He made all kinds of friends at our church’s annual food drop. The little guy may even show up on the local news or on the big screen at church because of his cute face! Anyway, here’s how the food drop works: starting in July, teams of volunteers pack boxes at Feed the Children. In December, the church participates in a special Christmas Offering. Then, the second Saturday of January, we all show up at church, form 14 assembly lines, and move boxes from six semi-trucks to box trucks and pick-up trucks. After that, people caravan with the trucks to deliver boxes of food and personal care items to local neighborhoods and food banks. Courben and I just worked the first shift on the assembly line and then headed home. I’m thankful to have such a cooperative and understanding baby who goes along with the flow even in 17 degree weather! I’m also grateful to be apart of a church that cares about feeding hungry people.
